各位家长与同学，在2015年寒暑假班的基础上，瑞藤教育的美国教师们经过精心设计并结合大家的投票选出了最终的精品班，即日起正式推出2016年暑假英语兴趣班，共计8种课程、五十八个小班。所有课程均为8次90分钟的课，共计12小时。每个小班一至两名学生以保证每个学生能获得老师足够的重视和互动时间。开课的美国认证教师都是瑞藤目前广受欢迎的教师们。他们的教育热情、对孩子的耐心和经验都会带领学生们进入一个令人难忘的英语世界。

1、Christian心理学/保护环境，绿色生活

（主讲教师：Christian Legler）

 

保护环境 绿色生活 Going Green（适合6-12年级）

Do you want to save our planet?  Do you want to reduce your carbon footprint?  This class explores local and global environmental issues and their management.  Students will learn about environmental concerns such as global warming and population growth, as well as the methods for managing and protecting the environment.  In addition, students will have an opportunity to learn how they can help the environment at home and in their local community. 

你想拯救我们的星球吗？你想减少你的碳足迹吗？本课程将带你探寻局部和全球的环境问题以及它们的应对方案。同学们将会学习到例如全球变暖和人口增长等环境问题，以及面对这些问题的解决方案和保护政策。此外，同学们将有机会学习如何从自身做起保护环境，无论是在家或通过社区，都请从小事做起，加入到绿色生活的行列！

心理学 Psychology（适合6-12年级）

Are you fascinated by how the mind works?  This class will provide students with abetter understanding of their own behavior and the behavior of others.  You will learn major concepts and theories ofpsychology.  In addition, students will beable to apply psychological concepts to their own lives.

你是否对人类的思想感到好奇？本课，我将带领同学们一起去了解你们自己以及他人的行为举止。你将会学到大量的心理学概念和理论。此外，同学们还将学习如何把心理学运用到你们的实际生活当中去。

2、英国地方与故事&写作强化 

（主讲教师：Sandra Richards）适合5年级及以上

了解英国为人熟知的和鲜为人知的历史遗迹的背后故事，参观巨石阵，伦敦塔、大本钟，威斯敏斯特宫，哈德良长城、波狄西亚女王纪念碑和古罗马浴场，仅举几例。重温英国一些最令人兴奋的事件和过去的传说。通过多样的写作练习表达出你对这些地方的感受，我们的游程将比你想要的更多！

Learn the stories behind some of Britain’s best-known and little known historical sites.Visit Stonehenge, theTower of London, Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, Hadrian’s Wall,  Queen Boadicea’s Monument, and the Roman city of Bath, to name just a few.  Relive some of Britain’s most exciting events and legends of the past give your reaction to them in a variety of written exercises. Our tour will leave you wanting more!

3、Holly精品英文原版读书会 

（主讲教师：Holly Cole）适合4年级以上

Life of Pie 是为7年级以上同学准备的。A Single Shard & A Long Walk to Water 由于小说篇不长，将以组合形式作为选择，这两本书难度轻松，适合4-8年级的同学阅读。另外两本Katherine Parks 的著作将作为一个组合，适合初中的同学们阅读。

The Life of Pi is for older students, I would recommend for 7th grade and older both for content and reading level.  A Single Shard & A Long Walk to Water are a companion offering of two books because of the length of the novels.  These two stories are apropriate for 4-8th grade.  The reading level and contant is much easier.  The other two companion novels by  are also appropriate for Middle School students.

4、世界7大奇迹之旅（世界地理）

（主讲教师：Elizabeth）适合3-9年级

In this exciting World Geography program, students will embark on a ‘virtual’ field trip around the globe visiting each continent along the way. Through the discovery of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World and the Seven Ancient Wonders of the World, students will learn more about the seven continents and five oceans, including learning the names and locations of major landforms such as mountain ranges, major rivers, and major cities. Our ‘virtual’ trip across the globe will take us to such places as the Pyramids in Egypt, the Grand Canyon in the United States, Mount Everest in the Himalayas, Victoria Falls in Africa, and many, many more.  Come aboard with me on this exciting adventure across space, time, and our beautiful home we call Earth.

5、Robin英文原版读书会To Kill a Mockingbird

（主讲教师：Robin Garrison）适合5年级以上

This story is set in a small town in the Southern states of America.  It takes place in the 1930’s when times were hard and there was no work.  The small town’s white population was not happy with the black population. But a white family comes together to help a black man who is charged with a crime he did not commit.

 

故事发生在美国南方的一个小镇上，1930年，那是一个艰难没有工作的年代。小镇上的黑人很不受白人待见。但是一个白人家庭却一起来帮助一个被控诉有罪却不肯认罪的黑人。

 

Students gain a sense of the living history that surrounds the novel To Kill a Mockingbird. When reading this novel, students of all backgrounds may better grasp how historical events and human forces have shaped relationships between black and white, and rich and poor cultures of our country.

 

同学们会了解一下本书的时代背景，之后再读本书时，同学们将会更好的理解，黑人和白人之间的关系是如何被历史事件和人类势力所影响的，也会更好的了解美国富人和穷人的文化。

Elementary Math  初等数学

Students will be going over: Number Sense, Place Values, Multiplication and Division with Fractions. This course has study work, quizzes and tests. Some projects may be added if time allows.

Elementary Language Arts 初等语言学

Students will be exploring Reading and Writing; Rhymes and Reports; Effective Communication, and Reading and Study Skills. This course has study work, quizzes and tests. Some project may be added if time allows.

Elementary Science 初等科学

Students will be exploring Man and His Environment, Weather, and Records in the Rock: Fossils and Geology. This course has study work, quizzes and tests. Some project may be added if time allows.

7、卡片人Stanley的世界大冒险

（主讲教师：Karen）适合2-5年级

 

Students will read books in the Flat Stanley’s Worldwide Adventures series. The series consist of 13 books in which Flat Stanley visits sites around the world, while he solves mysteries.  Students will read the books to help Flat Stanley solve the mysteries. We will visit websites to learn more about the places Flat Stanley visits, and write a travel journal using information that we learned on our journeys with Flat Stanley.

8、神奇树屋读书会

（主讲教师：Peggy）适合2-5年级

 

Students will read the books in The Magic Tree House Series which consists of books 1-28, in which Morgan Le Fay sends Jack and Annie, two normal children from Frog Creek, Pennsylvania, on numerous adventures and missions with a magical tree house in order to help free Morgan from a spell, you will help solve four ancient riddles to become Master Librarians, and save four ancient stories from being lost forever. We will read books, visit their website and play games.

 

本次儿童读书会将带同学们阅读神奇书屋系列（该系列共28本），一对住在宾夕法尼亚，蛙溪镇的小兄妹杰克和安妮在森林里发现了魔法神奇书屋，为了解救被禁锢的仙女摩根，神奇书屋会带他们穿梭时空经历各种冒险。你将会帮助他们一起解开四个远古咒语，成为图书管理大师，并帮助拯救四个即将消失的远古故事。本课我会带你一起读书，去网站上完成小游戏。
