2nd Grade Sciences

The Sciences II course expands on the basic scientific concepts introduced in the Sciences I. Measurement, magnets, and forms of energy are introduced in this course. Students will study the effects of drugs and alcohol on people and understand how human activities such as burning the rain forests and clearing areas for development affect our environment. The moon, our earth's land forms, and the seasons are also studied. This course recognizes how technology has improved various inventions and methods of transportation.

The Sciences II course includes other topics such as:

• Recognizing how scientists check and share their work

• Identifying different groups of people

• Grouping and organizing matter by properties

• Discovering the human growth process from infancy to adulthood
